Status Definition
Frozen Account cannot be transacted due to:
1. The service of a garnishee order or other court order
2. The death, insanity or bankruptcy of a customer, or in the case of a limited company, notice of voluntary liquidation or filing of a winding-up petition.
3. Notice of an assignment to a third party of the balance outstanding in the customer’s favour.

Dormant No ‘customer originated’ transaction (e.g. deposit or withdrawal) for the past one year.

Credit only allowed Only credit transaction allowed.

 
Savings Account/Fixed Deposit
Status Definition
Dormant (savings only) No ‘customer originated’ transaction (e.g. deposit or withdrawal) for the past one year.

Unclaimed (savings only) Account not operated for a period of not less than 7 years.

Frozen Account cannot be transacted due to Court Order, instruction by Head Office, or receipt of notice (Receiver’s Order) of bankruptcy on the account holder/any one of a joint account holder.

Account cannot be transacted once receipt of verbal or written notification that the account holder is deceased. For joint account, the account will be frozen in the event of death of any of the joint account holders.

 
Credit Card/Debit Card
Status Definition
Active (credit card)

Indicates a card that has been approved by AmBank. The card may or may not have been used for transaction/s. Cancelled Credit Card accounts due to default in payment are not covered under Active status.

Active (debit card)

Indicates a card that has either no transaction or actively used for transaction.

Access Restricted

Internet access to this account is not available.
